Community Hero Award Winner, Mary Beth Sutton of WaterWays
Chattanooga Football Club has announced Mary Beth Sutton as January’s Community Hero of the Month. Founder and Executive Director of WaterWays, Mary Beth and her team have worked to provide outdoor education opportunities to local students. Over the past 20 years, WaterWays has grown from a small grassroots student alliance to an international non-profit organization focused on watershed health and restoration with efforts to repair the rivers, creeks, and streams through natural remediation techniques. Described as a friend to everyone she meets, Mary Beth will receive a gift card courtesy of Rodizio Grill and a two-night vacation voucher.

CFC announces Female Student-Athlete Highlight with CSMO, Kimberly Vicente Sica
This month’s Female Student-Athlete Highlight with the Center For Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics (CSMO) was awarded to Kimberly Vicente Sica from Bess T. Shepard Elementary School. The straight-A student started playing soccer with Operation Get Active in 2023 and continues to give her all to whatever she puts her mind to. Described as a self-starter, Vicente Sica is a leader on and off the field by encouraging her team-mates, having patience with others and never giving up.

Local Small Business of the Month powered by EPB, Revollo Castlebary & Associates Law Firm, LLC
Established to aid the Latinx community with their family immigration and wills and trust needs, Revollo Castlebary & Associates Law Firm, LLC is the January Local Business of the Month Award recipient powered by EPB. Priscilla Castlebary provides free sessions to the community to educate underprivileged communities on the importance of having a will or trust and naming guardians for minor children. Castlebary is the founder of the Latinos Professionals Network group created to connect Latinx business owners and professionals in the Chattanooga community.

Teacher Appreciation Spotlight Awards Nominations Now Open
Nominations are now open for our ‘Teacher Appreciation' Award. Parents and students are encouraged to nominate teachers who have positively impacted their lives through their teaching methods and positive experiences in the classrooms.

Read to Score with Joseph Perez and Milo Garvanian at Bess T. Shepherd Elementary School
Chattanooga FC players Joseph Perez and Milo Garvanian visited Bess T. Shepherd Elementary School for the Read to Score Kick-off Event on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. The Defenders read to first and second grade classes during their quiet time from books that shared their love for soccer around the world. Students were able to ask their new favorite players questions about their families, moving to Chattanooga and favorite victory dances.
As part of our Read to Score initiative, each child received a special bookmark from Chattanooga FC to help keep track of their reading. After reading three books, the students can fill out their reading log on the back of their bookmark to have it redeemed for a free ticket throughout the regular season. First Hamilton County Soccer Clinic ran by Alex McGrath and Jesse Williams
On Wednesday, January 31, Chattanooga FC midfielder Alex McGrath and defender Jesse Williams joined Operation Get Active for an afternoon of soccer and fun at Bess T. Shepherd Elementary School. At the first CFC Soccer Clinic held in Hamilton County, the athletes led the first and third graders in drills after warming up and some light stretching. The excited star students practiced their dribbling skills with McGrath and scoring techniques with newcomer Williams.
Fist Bump Friday at Orchard Knob Middle School with CFC CEO Alton Byrd
Chattanooga FC CEO Alton Byrd spoke at Fist Bump Friday held at Orchard Knob Middle School on Friday, December 1, 2023. Designed to encourage and normalize positive encounters with first responders and community leaders, Byrd shared an inspirational message about his hardship throughout childhood and the ‘never give up’ attitude that led him to the career path he has today.
Mainx24 with CFC
Proud members of the Chattanooga FC Foundation, Academy, staff and fans and coaching staff participated in the Mainx24 parade on Saturday, December 2, 2023. A staple in Chattanooga Christmas traditions, Chattanooga FC and the Chattahooligans joined community members for a morning filled with fun, Christmas-themed chants and exciting giveaways as we gear up for the 2024 season. Black Firefighters Gala sponsored by CFC
Members of Chattanooga FC joined the Brothers United of Chattanooga International Association of Black Professional Firefighters and the Net Resource Foundation for the 2nd Annual Black Firefighters Gala on Saturday, December 2. The black-tie affair helped the organizations raise money for their educational programs and free safety sessions around Chattanooga and Cleveland areas.
Donation of Christmas Presents for Families Northside Neighborhood House
Chattanooga FC surprised three families of Northside Neighborhood House with Christmas presents to help spread cheer during the holiday season. Each parent, child and even grandparents of these families received personalized Christmas presents just in time to open on Christmas morning.
Ice on Landing
