Chattanooga FC heads south to face Orlando City B on Sunday, May 31 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. ET.
Chattanooga FC aims to keep the momentum rolling on the road against Orlando City B this weekend.
Despite battling the weather, Chattanooga put together another dominant performance last Sunday to seal its third consecutive win, a 1-0 victory over fellow independent Carolina Core FC. Alex Krehl led the way, tallying his fifth goal of the season to take the team lead, and Daniel Mangarov bagged his second assist of the year on Krehl's goal while making his 50th appearance for the club.
The win saw Chattanooga improve to sixth in the Eastern Conference and third in the Southeast Division, currently sitting just ahead of Orlando City B behind a 6-4-1 (19 pts.) record.
Sunday will be the second time CFC faces Orlando City B in 2026 and the lone matchup on the road. The two most recently met on April 11, which saw Chattanooga secure three points at home in a 3-1 victory. CFC will catch the Young Lions at home to close out the regular season series on July 18.
CFC leads the overall head-to-head 3-1-3 (3SOW), with a 0-1-2 (2SOW) record on the road against Orlando.
Coach's corner
Interim Head Coach Richard Dixon spoke about the challenge of squad selections when the team is in form and has a clean bill of health.
"That's a difficult part of the job. When you find the team in a good place and they have good rhythm and the relationships are good, it's hard not to change that. When you have key players that have been out and coming back in the mix, whether from injury or suspension, that's also difficult, knowing they can help us win football games. We're trying to find that balance."
Dixon also looked back at the 3-1 win over Orlando earlier in the season.
"We were in our second phase at that point where we progressed on how we want to build and progress the ball. We didn't necessarily change our shape a whole lot, but we had players moving in and out of different pockets. The guys went in and executed at that level in a game, so that was really good to see. We want to be as dynamic as possible in the attack."
