Chattanooga FC Women signs the former Florida State University goalkeeper and 2024 WPSL national champion for the 2025 season!
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 24, 2025) — Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) today announced it has signed goalkeeper Maddie Smith for the 2025 Chattanooga FC Women's WPSL season, pending federation and league approval.
Smith, originally from Omaha, Nebraska, will be bringing championship pedigree to Chattanooga this summer as she won the 2024 WPSL championship with California Storm.
She had an impressive collegiate career, beginning at Lake Tahoe Community College, where she helped lead the team to the. Final Four while posting 15 shutouts. Smith spent her sophomore year with the University of Nebraska Omaha, where she made six starts and helped the Mavericks advance to the Summit League Championship match after forcing three missed penalty kick attempts.
Smith then spent her junior and senior seasons with the University of Maryland Terrapins, where she appearaed in 24 games and made 13 starts across those two seasons.
She completed her university career with the Florida State University Seminoles as a fifth-year senior, playing in four games.

Smith expressed her excitement upon joining CFC.
