Reese McDermott signs with Chattanooga FC Women

The former Colorado School of Mines and Colorado Storm striker joins Chattanooga FC Women for the 2025 season!

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (February 24, 2025) — Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) today announced it has signed forward Reese McDermott for the 2025 Chattanooga FC Women's WPSL season, pending federation and league approval.

"Reese has been one of the best forwards in college soccer at any level for the past several years," said Chattanooga FC Technical Director Sebastian Giraldo. "We have a proven champion, instinctual finisher and high character human that will be a professional soccer athlete in a short period of time. Do not let her calm demeanor fool you as she is a ruthless goalscorer."

McDermott, a quantitative bioscienes and engineering major, had an illustrious career with the Colorado School of Mines, tallying 53 goals and 19 assists across four seasons for the Orediggers.

McDermott was instrumental in helping the Colorado Storm reach the final of the USL W League last season, scoring ten goals in 15 matches.

Before her time with the Orediggers, McDermott was an accomplished three-sport athlete and soccer captain for Saint Thomas’ Episcopal (Texas).

"Reese is a determined and proven goalscoarer and will be an essential piece in our attack," said Chattanooga FC Women Head Coach Juan Hernandez. "We know she will be an example to follow to all Academy players wanting to reach the next level. CFC is excited to provide a platform for extremely talented players like Reese who are looking to move into the professional ranks."

McDermott expressed her excitement upon signing for Chattanooga FC Women.

"I am really excited to play with the team," said McDermott. "I've worked with Associate Head Coach Maryn Beutler before and loved the coaching style and atmosphere on and off the field. The idea of having a huge fanbase is certainly exciting as well.

"It brings me joy knowing that my sport can bring people together and that other people love watching us play almost as much as we love playing the game. Ultimately, I play because I love the game, but I'm so thankful I get to share that with others, fans and team-mates. Coming from the the Mines women's soccer team where the camaraderie off the field was one of the team's strengths, I'm thankful for the opportunity to play for a club that also values building relationships off the field just as much as performance on the field."

2025 club season tickets, which includes men's and women's matches combined, are on sale now!

Chattanooga FC Women will return in the summer of 2025 with another exciting season of play in the WPSL. Keep up to date with CFCW on Instagram, on X and at chattanoogafc.com.
