Chattanooga Football Club has been named MLS NEXT Pro Team of the Matchweek following the club's 2-1 victory over Columbus Crew 2.
Buoyed by the return of Jesus Ibarra, the Boys in Blue snapped Crew 2's 12-match unbeaten run in front of over 3,000 supporters at Finley Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
"All that we were thinking about before the game was three points," said Ibarra in his post-match interview. "We did the job, and we're super excited to still have hope to get into the playoffs."
Head Coach Rod Underwood credited the positive result to a collective performance.
"Guys stepped up. Logan [Brown] and Robert [Screen]; everyone worked hard. There was a good, mature mentality. But that's just one step for us."
The result sees CFC remain in playoff contention with three regular season matches remaining, including a final home match of the season on MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day on Sunday, October 6 against New York Red Bulls II. Tickets are on sale now!
