Hamilton County Player Clinic at Calvin Donaldson Elementary School: 2.23
To complete their three week course on soccer, Calvin Donaldson Elementary School invited CFC out to see what their students learned from gym class on February 23rd. The 1st and 2nd graders showed off their new skills to Joseph Perez and Robert Screen in a game of red light, green light, and a scrimmage of 30 versus our two professional players. Later that day, Players Milo Garvianian and Luis Sosa challenged the 4th and 5th graders with skills practices focusing on control and watched what they learned while joining in on all of the fun.
February’s Local Business of the Month Award Recipient Powered by EPB
February's Local Business of the Month powered by EPB was presented to Cocoa Asante's for their chocolates almost too pretty to eat. The Black and women-owned company sources the cocao in their chocolates from their home country Ghana, and creates their nationally recognized delicacies here in Chattanooga, TN. The CEO and Founder, Ella Livingston, is a steward of the local Chattanooga business community and helps elevate and empower small business owners in the area of all stripes.

February Community Hero Award Recipient
February’s Community Hero Award Recipient was presented to Haile Nottage for her dedication to the support of the next generation of Chattanooga. Formerly a teacher, Nottage is now an integral part of the Big Brother, Big Sister chapter of Chattanooga’s staff. Daily Nottage encourages teens through her Big Futures Programs designed to transform the lives of teens 18 and older to ensure they have the necessary resources to successfully transition into adulthood. Described as caring, generous with her time and “ a diamond that shines mightily within this community,” by her nominator, we are thrilled to celebrate Haile Nottage as our Community Hero Award Recipient as she continues to mentor, inspire and prosper the lives of those around her.

Girls Leadership Summit, Sponsored by CFC: 2.9/2.10

The free event was filled with interesting panel discussions, networking events and forums to supply attendees with resources for a successful future. Committed to empowering the next generation of leaders, CFC was a proud sponsor of such a transformative event.
Read to Score at Woodmore Elementary: 2.21
Our boys in blue had the pleasure of reading stories with our friends at Woodmore Elementary in February. Players Alex Mcgrath and Joseph Perez joined kindergarteners and 2nd graders for some of their favorite books about soccer and teamwork.

As part of our Read to Score initiative, each child received a special bookmark from Chattanooga FC to help keep track of their reading. After reading three books, the students can fill out their reading log on the back of their bookmark to have it redeemed for a free ticket throughout the regular season. Non-profit Network Event: 2.2
Chattanooga Football Club would like to thank the nearly 20 non-profit organizations who attended the inaugural Non-profit Networking Event on February 1st. Held at the Habitat for Humanity building, Chattanooga Football Club hosted the area's prominent non-profit organization for coffee to discuss the 2024 season, highlight their community development initiatives and share opportunities for involvement within the community.

Women in Sports Night at UTC WBB Games: 2.1
The Chattanooga FC staff participated in Women in Sports Night at a UTC Women’s Basketball in Mckenzie Arena. The night celebrated the thriving women’s teams at UTC and made a special shoutout to women in sports across Chattanooga. This includes the dedicated women who make up almost half of the talented staff within Chattanooga Football Club front office staff. The CFC staff even participated in an in-game feature encapsulating their evening of fun, awareness and community with their UTC neighbors.
Lee University Sports Management Class: 2.5
Chattanooga FC’s CEO J. Alton Byrd spoke to the next generation of Sports Management professionals during the Lee University Sports Management class on February 5th. He shared insights from his over 20 years within the sports industry, answered questions and left the students with an immeasurable amount of knowledge to move forward in their careers. Education is at the forefront of CFC’s community initiatives, and near and dear to the heart of it’s CEO Alton Byrd.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School Career Day Visit
As we continue to build relationships with our community, CFC staff spoke to the sophomores, juniors and seniors at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School about career opportunities in sports. The interested students were able to ask questions with our experienced staff, as well as have receive genuine insight from our sports professionals.
Bessie Smith Visit with players: 2.12
Players, Coaching Staff and CFC front office staff were honored with a private tour of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center on February 12. For the new members of CFC’s roster, players were able to learn about the history of their new home, from music and social clubs, to Chattanooga’s famous terminal station. The visit was also a great reminder that Black History is Chattanooga’s history, creating a deep understanding for all how far Chattanooga has come and a brighter future for our tomorrow.
The 57th Tri-State Home Show: 2.16
Did you catch Chattanooga FC at the 57th Tri-State Home Show on February 16th at the Chattanooga Convention Center? Brought to you by the Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga, CFC enjoyed meeting our neighbors, sharing giveaway prizes and talking about the upcoming 2024 season with the hundreds of attendees that visited our booth.
