Chattanooga Football Club has announced a contract extension for assistant coach Chris Nugent.
Nugent, who joined CFC for the 2022 season, will enter his third year with the club in 2024. He previously coached with CFC head coach Rod Underwood at Stumptown AC in Charlotte and came to Chattanooga with Underwood in 2022.
Prior to that, Nugent served as Technical Director and Performance Analyst for NC Fusion, coaching their USL2 and ECNL to the Southern Conference title and a National Runner-Up result. He also served as Assistant Academy Director and Head Coach with Queen City Mutiny (DA and MLSNext member). He holds his USSF “A” License and NSCAA Premier licenses
Coach Nugent is from Camberley, England and officially became a U.S. citizen at a ceremony in Chattanooga this summer. He is known around the game for his innovative use of data for evidence-based coaching and key performance indicators.
Chattanooga Football Club is in its 15th season as a club and its third full year as a professional club. The boys in blue are undefeated in league play in 2023 and currently in first place on the table.
