HIGH POINT, N.C. (December 21, 2023) - Carolina Core FC, an independent club that will join MLS NEXT Pro in 2024, has signed Colombian, 18 year old, Jesus Orejuela.
"Jesus had been in the MLS Academy since he was 15 years old as a central defensive midfielder. I have been able to observe his progress over the last 2 years playing with Houston Dynamo U20 and MLS NEXT Pro club, Houston Dynamo 2. He has also been training with the MLS 1st Team and feel his talents can help us here at CCFC. We look forward to seeing his developmental progress here at the Core in 2024," says Roy Lassiter, Head Coach.Â
Orejuela joins Carolina Core FC following a break-out season with MLS NEXT Pro side, Houston Dynamo 2. The midfielder logged 5 appearances with the squad in 2023. Orejuela made his professional debut with the team in 2022, being called up from Houston Dynamo Academy.Â
Orejuela will join Carolina Core FC in their inaugural season with MLS NEXT Pro this coming spring. Carolina Core FC will play their home matches at Truist Point Stadium in downtown High Point, North Carolina.
