HIGH POINT, N.C. (January 19, 2024) - Carolina Core FC today announced that the club has signed striker, David Polanco, to a contract for the 2024 season.
Polanco, 24, joins the club after spending the previous season with Barry University in Florida. The prolific striker joins CCFC on the back of leading his team to a 13-5-1 record and a Sweet Sixteen berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament. Polanco looks to use his experience and leadership to help guide Carolina Core FC as it embarks on its first season.
“We are excited to add David to our roster. He's a creative finisher that’s good in the air and has great top-end speed,” said Chief Sporting Officer Eddie Pope. “Additionally, he's a prolific off-the-shoulder striker who's great at getting in behind the opposition's backline.”
The Key Biscanye, Florida, native joins the club with high-level experience. During his time at Barry University, Polanco netted 25 goals and three assists in his career. Throughout his time in college, the striker was named 2023 Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Year, SSC Tournament MVP, and South Region Player of the Year. Polanco was also named to the Third-Team All-American in consecutive years (2022 and 2023).

The pacy striker joins the club with European and South American club soccer experience, as well as previously being a part of the U.S. Youth National Team setup.
