Charles, 20, joins the club after spending the previous season with FC Congo AZ. The young midfielder also played for NPSL club FC Arizona. The talented Tanzanian midfielder looks to use his experience in multiple leagues to help drive Carolina Core FC into their inaugural season.

“We are very excited to add Alenga to our roster here at CCFC to begin his pro career. He can play a couple of positions in midfield, and we believe he’ll have a bright future with our organization,” said Head Scout, Andy Williams. “He really impressed the coaching staff at our first ever open tryout, and we are happy to help fulfill his dream of becoming a professional soccer player.”

The Phoenix, Arizona local hopes to make an instant impact and bring versatility to the squad. Charles is highly regarded for his ability to display creativity in the final third while still maintaining his defensive responsibilities.

“Alenga showed well in the invitational tryouts in the midfielder position to earn a spot on the team. He possessed good technical ability and did well with holding the ball with players around him,” remarked Head Coach, Roy Lassiter. “He also impressed the technical staff with his ability to see the field and find players in advanced positions. We look forward to seeing Alenga's progression as a player for CCFC this season.”
