A club tradition continues ahead of Chattanooga Football Club's second season competing in MLS NEXT Pro.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (November 21, 2024) — Chattanooga Football Club announced today that the 2025 Open Tryout for the men's team will take place on Saturday, January 11 at Finley Stadium.
The club is committed to honoring a long-standing tradition ahead of its second season competing in MLS NEXT Pro. This is part of the club’s long-standing tradition of offering a shot at the first team for anyone in the community and beyond.
Current first-team defender Logan Brown came through last year's open tryout, signed a first-team contract and played nearly 400 minutes in the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season.
Previous years' open tryouts saw players travel from Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington DC and Wisconsin to take part and battle for their dream.
"The open tryout is important because originally the club started as a community club with mainly local players," said CFC Men's Head Coach Chris Nugent. "Even though we have moved into the professional ranks, we still want to give opportunities to local players. The last two years we've signed players from the open tryout that went on to play significant minutes. As the club progresses, the level will get higher. We'll be looking at all positions and all types of players."
Interested players must register in advance here. There is a $150.00 registration fee.
The tryout will be divided into a morning session from 9:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a break for lunch, and then an afternoon session of games from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Check-in for players begins at 8:00 a.m.
Select players could then have the opportunity to join the first team in preseason training or attend a combine.
Stands will be open to the public to watch the tryout. No ticket is required.
NOTE: Players must be at least 16 years of age to participate in the open tryout.
