2024 men's team open tryouts

2025 men's team open tryouts, originally planned for Saturday, January 11, rescheduled due to weather conditions and safety concerns.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (January 9, 2025) — Chattanooga Football Club announced today that the 2025 Open Tryouts for the men's team, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 11, have been postponed due to weather conditions and safety concerns.

The tryouts will now take place on Sunday, February 9 at Finley Stadium.

The club is committed to honoring a long-standing tradition ahead of its second season competing in MLS NEXT Pro. This is part of the club’s long-standing tradition of offering a shot at the first team for anyone in the community and beyond.

Supporters are also encouraged to attend for a unique chance to gather as a community ahead of a new season and enjoy watching some local and national talent vying for places on the 2025 roster.

Current first-team defender Logan Brown came through last year's open tryout, signed a first-team contract and played nearly 400 minutes in the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season.

Previous years' open tryouts saw players travel from Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington DC and Wisconsin to take part and battle for their dream.

"The open tryout is important because originally the club started as a community club with mainly local players," said CFC Men's Head Coach Chris Nugent. "Even though we have moved into the professional ranks, we still want to give opportunities to local players. The last two years we've signed players from the open tryout that went on to play significant minutes. As the club progresses, the level will get higher. We'll be looking at all positions and all types of players."

The tryout will be divided into a morning session from 9:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a break for lunch, and then an afternoon session of games from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Check-in for players begins at 8:00 a.m.

Select players could then have the opportunity to join the first team in preseason training or attend a combine.

Stands will be open to the public to watch the tryout. No ticket is required.
