Blanking the defending MLS NEXT Pro Cup champions is always a statement-maker around the league.
Chicago Fire II earned their second Team of the Matchweek nod of the season for a dominant 3-0 win over Red Bull New York II.
Also getting a big win, Atlanta United 2's star striker Arif Kovac led the way in a 4-1 win over Inter Miami CF II, grabbing his second Player of the Matchweek selection of 2026.
Orlando City Academy winger Matthew Belgodere earned his second MLS NEXT Rising Star of the Matchweek honor of the year for his part in Orlando City B's 2-1 win over FC Cincinnati 2.

Getting some help from the reigning Golden Boot Award winner Jason Shokalook, Fire II extended their unbeaten run to five with a 3-0 win over RBNY II.
In his second MLS NEXT Pro appearance of the season, he scored twice within the first 13 minutes to set Fire II up comfortably before exiting at halftime. In came Dean Boltz, who made an immediate impact with an insurance goal seconds after the opening kick of the second half.
On the other end, Fire II posted a solid defensive outing for the clean sheet, only allowing two shots on goal to the second-highest scoring team in the league.
Perhaps coming alive at the home stretch, Fire II sit just outside of the playoff positions in the Eastern Conference with 10 weeks to go. They also won Team of Matchweek 12.

There he goes again.
Kovac, the 19-year-old Atlanta United 2 striker, led the way once again in Saturday's 4-1 win over Inter Miami II.
Skillfully assisting the opener for Daniel Chica in the 20th minute and sealing the win in the 62nd minute, it was another dominant performance from the 2026 Golden Boot leader, who brings his season tally to 13g/3a.
Kovac, an Atlanta United Academy product, went pro when he signed with ATL UTD 2 ahead of the 2025 season. He also won Player of Matchweek 11.

The breakout year for Belgodere continues.
He bagged the game-winner in Sunday's 2-1 win at FC Cincinnati 2 with a crafty finish that had to go past a crowd of FCC2 defenders.
The 16-year-old now has three goals on the season, in which he's started eight times in 16 appearances, helping the young Lions to a third-place spot in the East on a three-game unbeaten run.
Belgodere also won MLS NEXT Rising Star of Matchweek 14.
