Philadelphia Union II's Cavan Sullivan added another impressive highlight to his season this week, earning his second Goal of the Matchweek award of the season after winning the majority of the poll vote.
Other nominees for Goal of Matchweek 24 included Inter Miami II’s Alejandro Flores De La Paz, Orlando City B’s Jorge Almaguer, and Colorado Rapids 2’s Marlon Vargas.
Sullivan’s award-winning strike took place during Union II’s match against Columbus Crew 2. With the game still scoreless in the 29th minute, Sullivan fired a stunning long-range shot from outside the box, putting his team ahead in spectacular fashion.
This goal marked Sullivan’s third of the season to go along with three assists. At just 14 years old, Sullivan is averaging a goal contribution every 135 minutes this campaign.
After earning two points against Crew 2, Philadelphia Union II will enjoy a bye week before turning their attention to Carolina Core FC during Matchweek 26 action.
