TFC II forward Julian Altobelli has earned the Goal of Macthweek 22 award for his remarkable free-kick goal against Atlanta United 2.
Other nominees for thr Goal of Macthweek 22 included Inter Miami II’s Lawson Sunderland, MNUFC2’s Loïc Mesanvi, and Houston Dynamo 2’s Gabriel Segal.
The goal took place in the 16th minute after Nathaniel Edwards was fouled just outside Atlanta United 2’s box. The TFC II captain stepped up and delivered a perfectly curled free kick from around 25 yards out, putting his team ahead 1-0. Unfortuantely, TFC II came up just short of road victory, eventually losing 2-1 to Atlanta United 2.
The Ontario, Canada native has been a key player for TFC II in 2024, starting 14 of the 16 matches he’s played in and contributing six goals and two assists.
