FC Cincinnati 2 forward Ben Stitz has earned the Goal of Matchweek 21 award after receiving more than 60% of the poll vote.
Other nominees included Ventura County FC’s Aaron Bibout, Atlanta United 2’s Alan Carleton, and Huntsville City FC’s Ethan O’Brien.
Stitz’s award-winning goal took place in the 31st minute of FC Cincinnati 2's match against Philadelphia Union II. Jesus Castellano initiated the attack on the right flank and delivered a perfect setup to Stitz near the top of Union II’s box. The 24-year-old then launched a missile that beat the Union II keeper, securing a 1-0 victory for his side.
FC Cincinnati 2 continues to shine in 2024, currently leading the Eastern Conference and in prime position to host a playoff game.
After a shootout win over New England Revolution II in Matchweek 22 action, FC Cincinnati 2 will next travel to face Carolina Core FC at Truist Point on August 16th.
