It’s Klein Time once again as St Louis CITY2 midfielder John Klein has won the MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchday for the third time this season thanks to his incredible bicycle kick goal last weekend.
Klein earned the Goal of Matchday honor after earning more than 80% of the poll vote.
Klein scored in the 48th minute after several shots on the LA Galaxy II goal. During the attack, Wan Kuzain received a rebound near the touchline and then lobbed the ball into the middle of the box, where Klein executed a bicycle kick to find the net.
CITY2 clinched their second consecutive playoff spot during Matchday 27 after defeating LA Galaxy II in front of a record breaking crowd by 4-1.
John Klein has continued to provide standouts performances for Buddy Murphy’s team, leading the team in goals scored with 13 and a team-high 27 appearances.
Looking ahead, CITY2 is set to travel to face off against Sporting KC II during MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day where a home playoff game will be on the line.
