Austin FC II look to continue their dominant 2026 regular season when they face off against Earthquakes II at home on October 18th in their first playoff match since their title-winning season in 2023.Â
Jason Shackell's side are fresh off a 65-point season that gave them the overall number one seed in the playoffs and are primed to earn their second MLS NEXT Pro Cup.
Player Spotlight
For much of the 2026 campaign, it was Jorge Alastuey who led Austin FC II from the middle of the field, but after earning a much-deserved first-team contract, Austin FC II had to count on new players to step up.
DjakarÃa Barro has played a key role in the middle of the pitch after Alastuey's promotion, with goalkeepers Erik Lauta and Charlie Farrar doing a superb job at goal and helping lead a backline that gave up only 21 goals in the league.
Erik Feliciano has also been key on the left wing, contributing goals at only 16 years old.
Surprisingly, Austin FC II's defense also includes the team's leading assist men: left back Patrick Cayelli and center back Jules Bery, with five and four assists, respectively.
Season Series
Austin FC II faced Earthquakes II twice in 2026, earning a 2-1 home win in a 4- 3 shootout on August 7 and a 1-0 home win on August 23 courtesy of a Diego Abarca goal.
The Road from Here
ATX II will host their first-ever playoff game this weekend when Earthquakes II visits Parmer Field on October 18 at 8:30 PM ET.
Quakes II are fresh off a thrilling Play-In round victory over Tacoma Defiance and will look to upset the number one team in the Western Conference.
