The mighty have fallen. Sort of.
After five Matchweeks of MLS NEXT Pro, there's a new name at the top of the Power Rankings, and it's unbeaten Chattanooga FC, who are officially embarking on club history with their start to 2025.
Ventura County FC shook up the Western Conference with a statement win over St Louis CITY2 and ended the Matchweek at the top of the conference standings.
Here's a closer look at how the Power Rankings shook out after Matchweek 5.
At long last, Chattanooga FC get their day in the sun in the Power Rankings.
CFC continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 4-1 win over Carolina Core for the first installment of the MLS NEXT Pro battle of independents in 2025, firming their grip at the top of the Eastern Conference.
It adds up to a historic start. The five-game unbeaten stretch is the best start to a season in club history since 2016 (all-time) and is good for the most successful start in their professional era.

St Louis CITY2 have relinquished control of the top spot in the Power Rankings for the first time in 2025 after back-to-back losses.
They still look like one of the top threats in the West, though. Can they bounce back next week?

It's all about striker Shak Mohammed right now for Orlando City B.
The 21-year-old has scored in four of the five matches he's appeared in this season and provided the winner in two 1-0 games.
Until the rest of the East can figure out a way to slow the Shak buzzsaw, they're on notice.

MNUFC2 are unbeaten through three road games to start the season and have one more to go before they get to enjoy a well-deserved homecoming in May.

A late goal from Academy defender Ian Charles tied the game, earned Rising Star of the Matchweek 5 honor, and proved once again just how deep the NTSC roster is with goal threats.

The 1-0 loss to OCB on Wednesday marked the end of a lengthy clean sheet streak to open the year.
