Hernán López has wasted no time making an impact in his return to the field.
In his second appearance since suffering a shoulder injury back in March, the San Jose Earthquakes' Designated Player delivered a moment of magic for The Town FC.
After spotting the St Louis CITY2 goalkeeper off his line, López launched a shot from close to the halfway line that sailed into the back of the goal.
The goal caught many by surprise, but not to those familiar with his quality.
The 24-year-old midfielder also added an assist during his 45 minutes of action, marking his first goal contributions of 2025 across all competitions.
Other Goal of the Matchweek nominees included Dylan Vanney (Ventura County FC), Matthew Dos Santos (NY Red Bulls II), and Kenji Mboma Dem (FC Cincinnati 2).
The Town FC cruised to a 4-0 victory over St Louis CITY2, extending their winning streak to three games. TTFC have allowed just one goal during their past 270 minutes of play.
Up next for The Town FC will be a trip to the Midwest to face off against Sporting KC II on May 17, where they will look to keep their winning streak alive.
