It’s been a breakout week for North Texas SC's Landon Hickam.
The 17-year-old midfielder was named MLS NEXT Pro’s Rising Star of Matchweek 8 and now adds the Goal of the Matchweek award to his growing resume.
Hickam opened his professional scoring account in style, scoring an eighth-minute wonder strike against MNUFC2 to help secure all three points for North Texas SC.
The goal marked his first as a pro and took place in just his seventh professional appearance.
Other Goal of the Week nominees included Harbor Miller (Ventura County FC), Yuval Cohen (Inter Miami II), and Gabriel Wesseh (Atlanta United 2).
With the win, North Texas SC continues its climb, breaking into the top four of the Western Conference standings. They'll have a week to rest before returning to action on May 18th against Houston Dynamo 2.
