Charlotte FC homegrown Brian Romero has earned the Goal of Matchweek 15 award for his pinpoint strike against Huntsville City FC.
The goal took place in the 85th minute, with Crown Legacy FC needing an equalizer. Romero received a pass near the Huntsville box, shook off his defender, and launched a left-footed strike into the top right corner.
Romero's goal sent the game into a shootout, where Crown Legacy FC went on to earn the extra point on the road.
The 19-year-old forward has been a mainstay for Crown Legacy FC since 2023. This season, he’s scored twice and appeared in 13 matches for Gary Dicker’s side.
Other nominees for Goal of Matchweek 15 included Alan Carleton (Huntsville City FC), Glory Nzingo (Carolina Core FC), and Ian Charles (North Texas SC).
Crown Legacy will now look to continue its momentum when they travel to take on Chicago Fire II. A victory, along with some other favorable results, could catapult CLFC above the playoff line.
