Huntsville City FC falls 3-2 to New York Red Bulls II on Saturday night in the final regular season matchup between the two sides.
The first half remained scoreless as both teams battled fiercely, with New York Red Bulls entering the matchup in first place in the Eastern Conference and Huntsville City sitting fifth.
In the second half, New York struck first, but Alan Carleton quickly leveled the score at 1-1. New York responded with another goal, and later, captain Zach Barrett converted a penalty to bring Huntsville within one. However, New York found the net once more to secure the 3-2 win.
The Boys in Blue remain in the hunt for a playoff spot with just two home games left in the regular season. They return to Wicks Family Field on September 28 at 7 p.m. to host Inter Miami II.
