Huntsville, Ala. (July 11, 2023) – Today, MLS NEXT Pro announced that Huntsville City FC has been named MLS NEXT Pro Team of Matchday 16 following a dominant 6-2 victory over Orlando City B on July 9. The win extended the team’s home unbeaten streak to four games.
Joey Skinner’s goal which was the sixth of night for Huntsville in the 78th minute has been nominated for MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchweek 16. Fans can vote for him on the league’s twitter account here.
This is the second time this season Huntsville City FC has been awarded MLS NEXT Pro Team of Matchday. The team received the honor on Matchday 9 following its 2-1 win over Crown Legacy on May 19 in the historic home opener at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium.
Huntsville City FC will be back in action on Sunday, July 16 when it takes on Toronto FC II at 6 p.m. CT at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. Tickets for the match can be purchased here.
