HIGH POINT, N.C. (March 28, 2024) - Carolina Core FC today announced that the club has signed defender Christian Diaz to a contract for the 2024 season.
Diaz, 17, joins the club after spending the previous season with the LAFC Academy and LAFC2. The U-17 U.S. Youth National Team player looks to forward his development with Carolina Core FC in its inaugural season.
“First of all, I've known Christian for a long time, and to see his growth from a young player to now has been extraordinary,” said Head Coach Roy Lassiter. “He's come through an MLS NEXT Pro academy and gained meaningful experience.”
The Golden State native joins CCFC in its inaugural season, hoping to bring valuable MLS NEXT Pro experience. Diaz is very astute defensively, with the capabilities to make an impact both on and off the ball, despite his young age.
“We feel Christian has learned very quickly and believe that he can be a consistent player for us, not just this season but also into the future,” remarked Lassiter.
